Nora Kory, PhD
Assistant Professor of Molecular Metabolism

Nora is originally from Heidelberg, Germany, and completed her studies in Chemistry and Biochemistry in Munich before coming to the US for her PhD and postdoc. She has had a long-standing interest in understanding the spatial organization of metabolism, originating from wanting to visualize what metabolism actually looks like. Nora loves art, in particular music, and is a passionate singer.

Ali Aghvami, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow

Ali is developing and employing novel approaches to study mitochondrial metabolite transport and metabolic compartmentalization. He received his PhD in physics from Brandeis University. When not working in the lab, he enjoys snowboarding and hiking.

Fiona Fitzpatrick, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow

Fiona is interested in cofactor metabolism and mitochondrial transport, and how alterations in such processes drive diseases such as cancer and neurological disorders. She worked at the Structural Genomic Consortium at the University of Oxford before completing her doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge.

Nico Hahn
Visiting Graduate Student

Nico is a visiting Biochemistry student from Würzburg, Germany. Outside of the lab his hobbies include tennis, skiing, soccer and scuba diving.

Zeina Harhous, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow

Zeina is originally from Lebanon. She completed her BS and MS at the Lebanese University, and her PhD at Claude Bernard University in Lyon, France. Zeina loves humanitarian work and has been an active volunteer with the Red Cross. She’s passionate about painting, reading, spirituality, and hiking.

Audrey Fox
Administrative Coordinator

Audrey is originally from Buffalo, NY, and has worked with the Department of Molecular Metabolism since 2017. In her spare time, she loves attending film festivals and is a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic.
